walking lady- siem reap 2018
acrylic on wood panel
"I occasionally passed this lady on my daily riverside walks and had an opportunity to ask if I could take a quick photo she stopped, one photo was all I got, before she walked away for her daily exercise. I haven't seen her since and wonder how she is?".
LIFE it seems has other plans for us.
my art has morphed from watercolor sketching to oil, acrylics, plein air, pen & wash, wall art and back again. my love of art has had a lot to do with my graphic design, my day job, the disciplines compliment each other in many ways.
I have been fortunate enough to spend time with many talented artists, walter magilton, jane annois, ceramic artist, colley whisson painter, ann justin talented pastelist, and contemporary landscape artist craig penny, alice saunders abstracts among others, all who have changed the way I look at art, painting and other things.
my latest art is about cambodia's warriors, the men who fought, the stories they can tell, as many pass - it is their time now.
tattoos were a big thing for men (and women) and I have pursued this in some portraits that will make my paintings for 2023/24
